Restaurant Sin Sze Chuan @ Langkawi

We came across Restaurant Sin Sze Chuan in Kuah on our way back from Eagle Square. The restaurant was packed, but we managed to find a table for us. They have variety foods in the menu.

Thai Style Stram Fish (kerabu): RM 67

Kerabu Fish was very fresh and nicely done; price wise its cheaper than what we pay in KL. The fish was fresh and well complemented by the saivor and spicy sauce. We polished off the entire plate right down to the last drop. It's a highly recommended dish if you can handle the spiciness of the sauce.

Salted Fish with Baby Kailan (Baby Cabbage): RM 16

FooYong Eggs: RM 12

Tomyam Soup: RM8

Salted FIsh with Baby Kailan were equally good as the steamed fish. Fresh and unbelievably tasty. FooYong egg was nicely done as well and reasonably priced for the portion they served. The Tomyam soup was very addictive, especially when eaten with rice and steamed fish. If you cannot take much spicy food, be careful while ordering this soup.

 Sizziling Beancurd: RM 16

Kam Heong Chicken: RM 20

Rice: RM 7

 Herbal Tea: RM 2

Sizzling Beancurd and Kam Heong chicken were highly recommended by a friend so we decided to order it. The chicken was seasoned and deep fried to juicy perfection.

If I’m not mistaken, the above meal cost around RM150. Pretty reasonable considering the amount of food we ordered, don’t you think?

Overall, It is a good place for dinner if you are in Kuah on a very reasonable price. We will definitely go back there if we are in Kuah again.

Sepiring @ Sunway Putra Mall

After months of passing by this place, finally I have decided to try this place out. Selection of menu in Sepiring is limited, but the dishes they offer has authentic Malaysia taste. I had some of my best food here at Sepiring.

 Warm Water: RM 1.83

Nasi Pandan with Ayam Berempah: RM 20.86

I went inside the shop after seeing the picture of Nasi Pandan with Ayam Berempah. It looked very tempting. The chicken was very soft and the marination they used on it was very delicious. Quite a number of side dishes came with Nasi Pandan. Such as Ikan Billis (Anchovy), Peanuts, Salads, Chicken, Sliced Cucumbers, one hard boiled egg, pickle, sambal and rendang kunyit sauce.

Curry Laksa: RM 18

Curry Laksa, another popular dish among many Malaysians. This curry has a rich authentic flavour and it was very creamy with strong coconut flavour. Curry Laksa came with shrimp dumplings, barbecued chicken and few slices of tofu.

Overall, we enjoyed our meal and will definitely make another visit to them to try out their other dishes.

Bamboo Garden Steamboat Restaurant @ Kepong

Last weekend we visited Bamboo Garden Steamboat Restaurant for dinner. This restaurant is located right next to The Challenger’s Sports Center and there is a huge place in front of the restaurant for parking.

We have ordered a mixed pot with Bone Soup (RM 18) and Tom Yum Soup (RM 4) together with 2 of their set menu options (RM 19.80). Bone Soup is their signature soup, which comes with a pork bone piece. Both of these soups were equally good. Bamboo Garden also offers Clear Soup free of charge, if you do not want to spend money on your soup.

We have also ordered Crab Stick (RM 6.30), Sliced Pork (RM 12.80), Quail Egg (RM 6), Cuttlefish Pork Ball (RM 5.80) and Seafood Tofu  (RM 6.30) together with the sets.

Set Menu: RM 19.89

Quill Egg: RM 6

Crab Stick: RM 6.30

Cuttlefish Pork Ball: RM 5.80

If you like spicy, these sauce options are best for you. It tasted like its a mixture of chills, ginger and some other herbs and very spicy.

Overall, we had a good meal with some drinks and we would not mind visiting them again for their food.

Restoran Soon Tatt @ Jalan Yew

There are many Bak Kut Teh restaurants in KL, but I decided to eat in Restoran Soon Tatt since it is quite close to my office.

Apart from Bak Kut Teh, this place serves many other dishes such as Roasted Chicken Rice, Roasted Duck Rice, Mixed Rice, etc. Based on recommendation I have ordered their soup bak kut teh. I have to agree it was very flavorful, and the garlic and chillies with soya sauce made it even better. The meat was cooked to perfection tenderness. The soup was very rich and savory with herbal flavor. Since it was quite late, I have just ordered one dish before heading back home.

Bak Kut Teh

Chinese Tea and Barley

I cannot recall the exact price, but it was around RM 20. I have not been to alot of bak kut teh restaurant, but this place served one of the best bak kut teh I have tried so far.  Overall, it was a good meal, I was satisfied with the portion as well as the taste.

Waffle @ Selayang Mall

Whenever I pass by any waffle shop, it reminds me of my university days. We used to have a waffle shop right next to bubble tea shop, my favorite spot on campus. Every other day before heading back home, I used to quickly grab a waffle with bubble tea in the evening. Since nowadays I do not get the chance to have it every alternative day; whenever I smell the flavors of waffle, I cannot resist myself from having it.

While we were in Selayang Mall, I found this waffle shop and went ahead with my usual order (chocolate and peanut butter). I was exactly like the waffle I used to have during university days.

Restaurant Lee How Fook @ Sitiawan

We have visited Sitiawan for a short weekend getaway. We decided to have seafood for dinner and from a recommendation of a family member we have visited Lee How Fook.

Among many seafood restaurants, Restaurant Lee How Fook is assessed well by its tasty dishes at a very reasonable price with good service.

Fried Egg

 Fried Fish with Thai Sauce

This fried fish is certainly a must-try if you visit Restaurant Lee How Fook. It was cooked to perfection. This was my favourite dish among all the dishes we have ordered. The freshness of the fish was distinctive and flesh were fork tender.

 Mixed Vegetables

 Sizzling Tofu
 Crab Soup

The Mixed vegetables, Sizzling tofu and Crab soup were equally good. Our overall experience here was as great as we expected it to be. We were satisfied with the food. If you are in Sitiawan, trying out this place will not leave you disappointed.

Ben's Independent Grocer @ DC Mall

Ben's Independent Grocer, I started visiting this place few years back when I used to work at Glo Damansara, PJ. We used to visit them for lunch, specially for their Grill me! Ben's used to grill all marinated meats you can purchase at the grocer. But recently, they only grill their Lamb with Grill me sticker. I was quite disappointed on this, since my favourite with them was marinated chicken from the grocer and I will usually add on their mashed potato and fries with my grill chicken. Since they do not grill chicken anymore, we have decided to order grilled chicken from the menu.

At DC Mall's Ben's Independent Grocer, you will need to order your food at the counter. We have decided to go for their BIG Half Roasted Chicken with 2 sides. For sides I ordered chips and butter rice. Sauce options given to us were black paper sauce and chicken soup. Black pepper sauce sounded better with our chicken, so we decided to order it.

BIG Half Roasted Chicken, Butter Rice, Chunky Chips: RM 32

Roasted chicken was very fresh and juicy. Black pepper sauce on it made it even better. However, I would still prefer my usual marinated chicken from the grocer over BIG Roasted chicken.

Ben's Independent Grocer at DC has many options for different types of food, such as Vietnamese food, Western food, Dessert and Coffee. We were very full with the Roasted chicken, but as always there is always space for dessert. So we have decided to move to their dessert cafe and order Red Velvet Cake.

Overall, I have always been happy with Ben's Independent Grocer's food. This is my 6th or 7th visit to Ben's and they have never failed to impress me with their tasty food.
